There is no tool as meticulous and versatile as the human hand – and it can’t be replaced by even the best precision machine. Manu factum means made by hand – and we are a manufactory by firm conviction, since our establishment more than 125 years ago.

Each workpiece passes through many patient hands, which furnish it with the perfection and quality that hallmark Paul scissors. It takes great skill and craftsmanship to hold a scissor blade on the grinding band at exactly the right angle, in order to create a pair of scissors that seems to effortlessly glide through fabric or paper. Our staff members are masters of their craft, who process each detail with great care and dedication. In the final step, each individual piece is carefully examined once more before it is received by the hands of its new owner.

Of course our production is supported by state-of-the-art precision tools and we constantly work on their further development. But our high standard of quality is ultimately due to processing according to the traditional artisan approach – as well as in-house product development and a selection of excellent materials. That is our concept of cutting edge tradition.

Since 1948 Scherenmanufaktur Paul is located on the outskirts of the Lower Saxon city of Harsefeld – far removed from the hustle and bustle of the city and surrounded by nature. Here is where we find the focus and serenity necessary to achieve the perfect craftsmanship that we strive for. Yet at the same time we are globally networked – scissors from our manufactory in Harsefeld travel to over 60 countries around the world.
